My name is Jenny Greenwood. (Jons-Mom-WI) My husband Tim & I live in Reedsburg, WI. We have been married for 22 years and have 3 sons & now a daughter. TJ our oldest is 21. He & his girlfriend will be attending the walk. Our youngest son Joe, 16, will be with us also.
Our middle son, Jon, is 19. He is a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps. He is on his first deployment serving with 2/5 G Co in the Persian Gulf.
Jon has wanted to be a Marine for as long as I can remember. We signed the papers shortly after his 17th birthday so he could enter the delayed entry program. Jon turned 18 last May, graduated 2 weeks later & left for bootcamp 10 days after that. He became a Marine September 7, 2007. His Dad & I, his grandparents, his future wife & mother-in-law were all there to see it. The ceremony & feeling of pride are something you can't explain. Jon was married to Cassy on Christmas leave last year. She & I are in the photo. Cassy & their dog "Moose" are at their apartment in California anxiously waiting for Jon to return so she isn't able to be here for the walk.

This is my first challenge. I will proudly spend my birthday walking in honor of my son & his unit & all others who protect (or have protected) our freedom. I have a whole new respect for that freedom since we entered the Marine Corps Family. I enjoy spending time with my family. That seems even more important now that Jon is so far away. My husband & I enjoy riding our Harley. Since Jon signed his enlistment papers 2 years ago I have acquired so much Marine Corps stuff that it is starting to overtake the Harley items I have been collecting for 20 years!
I didn't see the link for this challenge until a few days ago so we are way behind. But, it is all about challenge right? Help us meet our goal won't you?
